About Mayne Island

An Easy Commute from Vancouver or Victoria

There is nature at your doorstep. Watch out above for the soaring hummingbirds that have no fear and seem especially curious! The deer consider this their yard and bring their fawns here first so we have a lot of young in the yard at different times. If you hear a fight, it's the raccoons at play and it's not uncommon to have an eagle land on one of the trees in the yard. Bicycles are available if you should want to tour the island.

Dock at Miners Bay Active Pass Lighthouse View of ferry from the island

We are within 2 or 3 blocks of Oyster Bay, Maude Bay, David Cove,  and Light House Park (and good Whale watching). The Island is famous for the Gulf Island National Park Reserve. The Glass Foundry is within a few blocks as are several artists studios. There's picnicking, kayaking, a putting green, a library, fishing, and the Japanese Gardens.
